形態特徵

• Herbs to 1 m tall. Stem erect or suberect. Rhizome to 5 cm long. Petiole 40-55 cm long, glabrous; petiole sheath 13-17 cm long, 2 cm wide.
• Leaf blade oblong-triangular, 21-25 cm long, 18-21 cm wide, apex caudate, base cordate, glabrous, membranaceous; primary lateral veins parallel, to 20 pairs. Cataphyll 11 cm long, 2.5 cm wide at base. Peduncle 7-11 cm long. Upper portion of spathe triangular, white, caducous at anthesis, spathe tube green, persistent.
• Spadix enclosed by spathe, shorter than spathe, sessile, comprising 4 parts: carpellate portion at base, cylindrical, 4-4.5 cm long; staminate portion clavate, at middle portion of spadix, 2 cm long; sterile flowers between staminate and carpellate flowers, contiguous with carpellate flowers; appendage oblong-deltoid, 1.5 cm long, 1.3 cm wide abruptly above sterile flowers of staminate zone. Staminate flowers: stamen apically truncate, thecae ellipsoid, connective audate, filament narrowly quadrangular; carpellate flowers ovoid; stylar region short, narrow, stigma subcapitate.
• Sterile flowers (staminodia) above the staminate portion and below the appendage occur in cultivated plants. Sterile flowers (pistillodes) are rarely found among the pistillate flowers in wild plants. These two features are not constant. <li><i>Schismatoglottis kotoensis</i> is similar to <i>S. calyptrata</i> (Roxb.) Zoll., but by having the length of the carpellate portion 1/2 the length of the spadix, the caudate apex of the anther-connective, the oblong-deltoid appendage and by having the sterile flowers between the staminate and carpellate flowers.</li>

Flowering September to October.

分布

• 台灣 : Common on Lanyu Is. on moist forest floor and in valley forests at 50-200 m. Sometimes associated with <i>Homalomena philippinensis</i>, <i>Alocasia odora</i> (Lodd.) Spach and <i>Xanthosoma violaceum</i> Schott.
